Chris Charles: Known as “The Folksinger,” Chris came to Portland, Oregon from the New York metro area in 1971 and was very active in the folk music scene at that time. He is now the owner of “Twang Music Studios,” which he founded in 2002. He is a singer-songwriter and instrumentalist and his music career includes co-founding the surfabilly band “The Surf Cowboys"and as a member of “The Peacemakers Band.” He has released six solo albums.
Brian Ray: From playing "Bands"in the basement with his brother and sister in the late 60s to performing on stage, making music has been a huge part of Brian's life. A self-taught guitarist, Brian began playing and singing at weddings in his early teens. Choir, jazz ensembles and musicals filled his high school years. A vocal scholarship to Oregon State University was the next stop in Brian's musical education. After college, Brian began his career in the hospitality industry. He may have entertained you at various venues in the Portland/Vancouver area. Now he adds his extensive solo experience and musical talents to this group.
Dez Young: The trio’s leader and founder, Dez began his singing career as a member of the folk trio “The Statesmen” at the age of 19. He moved on to a solo career in front of live audiences as well as television cameras. He co-hosted a children’s TV program with Ronald McDonald in Colorado Springs for KKTV, and produced and hosted a local variety TV show in Portland, Oregon on KOIN TV where he sang with a five piece studio band. Moving to the national level, Dez produced and hosted 135 shows for the OLN/VERSUS cable television network for eleven years. He won 18 Telly Awards; four of them were for original music composed and performed by Dez. This trio brings him full circle to his folk music roots.
